STUDENT DISCIPLINARY BY-LAWSIt’s the primary duty of the EMU students to comply with the Student Disciplinary By-Laws. The EMU Student Disciplinary By Laws consist of the disciplinary rules, regulations and procedures, which will be initiated if any student is engaged in unacceptable and unlawful activities. Students can make an appeal against any disciplinary action initiated against them.
The provisions of this by-law cover all EMU Faculties, Schools, Institutions and Centers in which students may be registered. The Disciplinary Board can subject any student who does not comply with the general moral and ethical code of conduct and appropriate behavior to one of the following disciplinary procedures:
a) Written Warning
b) Serious Misdemeanor Notice
c) Short-term Suspension from the university
d) Medium to Long-term suspension from the university
e) Expulsion from the university

The attitude and behavior which result in the disciplinary action are as follows:
- Not attending classes and/or exams without an acceptable written excuse.
- Attempting to obtain the exam questions before the exam, cheating or assisting another student to copy from your paper.
- Entering an exam in place of another person or forcing another person to enter an exam in your place.
- Lying to the university authorities.
- A verbal or written threat to the Rector, to the members of the Board of Trustees, to the university staff and to the families of those mentioned, either within or outside the campus.
- Behaving in a totally unacceptable and disrespectful manner in front of the Rector, the members of the Board of Trustees and the university staff and/or attempting to humiliate them in public or in private.
- Acting as an unauthorized representative of the University at meetings, conferences, performances or any other public activities without written permission from the Rector.
- Taking anyone’s property without his/her permission or damaging other people’s property.
- Gambling within the EMU Campus.
- Using or selling alcohol or drugs within the university campus.
- To carry or to use a gun or any other weapon or instrument that will cause an injury to anyone either on campus or off campus.
- To deliberately damage or to vandalize the buildings and equipment within the EMU campus.
- To spread politically motivated propaganda and to initiate strikes on campus.
- Tearing up or destroy any written university announcements, posted memorandums, posters and declarations made by the university staff or other authorized personnel.
- Not obeying the traffic rules on the campus and ignoring the warnings of the security officers.
- To have already received a “Medium or Long-term Suspension from the university in one academic year and yet to persist in committing acts of gross misconduct.
It should not be forgotten that:
- To use fake documents
- To injure or to try to injure any member of the university or any of their family members on or off campus
- To repeat misconduct for which a disciplinary action has already been taken twice in an academic year result in an EXPULSION from the university
